Richard Rylance's bridge with railway sleepers

The bridge work was completed earlier today. Landscaping and planting to do [end of April - ish]. Cheers
Richard Rylance

What a beautiful setting for a landscaping project! Nothing beats the sight of water, trees and a bridge. Inspiring, as Claude Monet found out.
Richard's skillfully built bridge hides the practicalities, hard work & craftmanship involved in building over a stream or pond. Claude Monet had his Japanese bridge built by a local craftsman. By the time the garden was restored the bridge was too damaged to be saved. It had to be rebuilt by a firm from Vernon. It was made of beech
